Manual schools: Assigning teachers to classes

If you are a manual school, you can manage your school’s teachers in the Bedrock app as a lead teacher.

If you can manually assign or remove teachers from your school’s classes in the teacher dashboard.

Assigning a teacher to a class

Assigning teachers to their classes gives them oversight of their learners’ data and ensures they are emailed their class’s weekly report. Assigning a teacher to a class is very simple.

1. After signing in, make sure you are in the ‘Class database’ tab
2. Select the class you wish to assign the teacher to
3. Click on the ‘Manage’ tab
4. Click on the drop-down menu arrow next to ‘Teachers’
5. Find the teacher you wish to add to the class and click ‘Add’

Removing a teacher from a class

To remove a teacher from a class, follow steps 1 to 4 in the guide above. Then, in the ‘Assigned teachers’ section, click the ‘Remove’ button next to the teacher’s name. If you do this by mistake, don’t worry! You can just add the teacher again from the ‘Add teachers’ section.

Adding and removing teachers using the ‘Subscription Management’ tab

You can also add and remove teachers from classes through your subscription management within the Bedrock app. Follow these steps to assign a teacher to class this way:

1. From your teacher dashboard, click on the ‘Subscription management’ tab
2. Ensure you’re on the ‘Staff database’
3. Find the teacher you wish to add to a class and click the three-dots menu next to their name
4. Click ‘Assign class’
5. Click on the drop-down menu and select the class you wish to assign the teacher to
6. Click ‘Assign class’

To remove a teacher from a class through subscription management, follow the steps above, clicking on ‘Remove class’ instead of ‘Assign class’ in the three-dots menu.
